Overview
The Driver safely and efficiently operates a box truck, delivering dry, refrigerated, and frozen food products as well as food service supplies to customer locations on a set route schedule. This role is critical in providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a refrigerated box truck to deliver products to customers, primarily in the hospitality and food-service industries.
- Load, unload, and stack products at customer locations.
- Track delivery progress and report issues in real time using routing software on a mobile device.
- Communicate with dispatch and management by phone in a timely manner.
- Provide excellent customer service, including checking in orders and collecting payments upon delivery.
- Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and identify maintenance needs.
- Comply with DOT regulations and all traffic laws.
- Undergo safe-driving training and complete safety inspections, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a positive Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Support the operations team by performing other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Clean driving record (no reckless driving or DUI/DWI violations).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Valid DOT physical card.
- Minimum 1–2 years of box truck route delivery driving experience.
- Strong attention to detail with solid written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
