Job Description:

Position Summary

M J & H Fabrication is seeking experienced Fitters to join our team. Fitters are responsible for interpreting drawings, laying out materials, fitting components, and preparing assemblies for welding on a variety of fabrication and piping projects. The ideal candidate will have strong blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, piping isometrics, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Lay out, fit, align, and assemble structural, piping, and fabricated components.
• Verify dimensions and ensure assemblies meet specifications and tolerances.
• Use measuring tools including tape measures, squares, levels, and other precision instruments.
• Prepare materials and assemblies for welding.
• Perform tack welding when required.
• Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, drills, saws, cutting equipment, and other shop tools.
• Assist with fabrication and assembly of structural steel, piping systems, skids, vessels, and miscellaneous fabricated products.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production schedules.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous fitting, fabrication, or pipe fitting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and piping isometrics.
• Strong math, layout, and measurement skills.
• Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes.
• Ability to work safely around welding and fabrication equipment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions.
• Ability to work in both shop and field environments as required.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Structural steel fitting experience.
• Pipe fitting experience.
• Experience with skid and vessel fabrication.
• Ability to perform tack welding.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.
