Job Summary
The Host/Hostess is responsible for welcoming guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring a positive first impression of the establishment. This role plays a key part in delivering excellent customer service by coordinating seating, communicating with staff, and maintaining a friendly, professional atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists
- Escort guests to tables and provide menus
- Communicate wait times accurately and courteously
- Coordinate seating with servers and management
- Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and lobby area
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
- Assist with other front-of-house duties as needed
- Take and pack to-go orders
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of reservation systems (preferred but not required)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Preferred Experience
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience is a plus, but not required
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
