This position should be knowledgeable about Tennis and Pickleball and reports directly to the Racquets Director. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Racquet Pro Shop. Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., weekends and night events as needed.
The Racquet Shop Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the racquet shop while delivering exceptional service to members and guests. This role manages retail sales, merchandising, inventory control, purchasing merchandise for the shop, and administrative support for the racquets department. The coordinator ensures the shop environment is organized, welcoming, and aligned with the club’s standards of hospitality and professionalism while maintaining budget awareness and proper cost of goods (COGs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Member Service & Communication
- Provide outstanding service to members and guests in the racquet shop and throughout the racquet’s facility.
- Assist members with retail purchases including racquets, pickleball paddles, apparel, accessories, and equipment.
- Answer member inquiries regarding lessons, clinics, events, and court reservations.
- Assist with registration and communication for racquets programs, leagues, and special events.
- Maintain a welcoming and professional environment that reflects the club’s hospitality standards.
Retail, Purchasing & Merchandising
- Select and purchase merchandise for the racquet shop including apparel, equipment, and accessories.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to source products that meet the club’s standards and member preferences.
- Maintain proper merchandising and visual presentation of apparel and retail items.
- Ensure clothing and merchandise are properly displayed and organized by category and gender.
- Re-stock merchandise and maintain inventory levels.
- Process retail transactions and maintain accurate sales records.
- Receive and organize incoming merchandise shipments.
- Coordinate and manage ladies’ team uniforms, including ordering, sizing, distribution, and communication with team captains and members.
- Manage purchasing decisions with attention to departmental budgets and maintain appropriate retail margins and cost of goods (COGs).
Inventory & Administrative Duties
- Track and maintain accurate inventory levels for retail products.
- Process invoices and assist with coding and submitting invoices for approval.
- Maintain inventory of racquet shop supplies including towels, grips, strings, and accessories.
- Assist with reporting and sales tracking for the racquet shop.
Racquets Department Support
- Assist with preparation and coordination of racquets events and tournaments.
- Help create and distribute flyers, promotional materials, and program communications.
- Support the professional staff with administrative tasks related to clinics, leagues, and events.
- Maintain daily shop organization including stocking towels and ensuring shop cleanliness.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., The days and hours could change pending different events at the club. Needs to be flexible to work a few weekends when we are having an event, and some late nights for the same reason.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Retail buying or merchandise purchasing experience required.
· Previous retail or hospitality experience preferred.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Comfortable using point-of-sale and club management software systems.
· Knowledge or interest in racquet sports (tennis, pickleball, padel) preferred.
