Accounting Assistant / Accounts Payable Specialist
Position Summary
Miyoshi America, Inc., a growing manufacturing company located in Dayville, Connecticut, is seeking an Accounting Assistant / Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team. This position is primarily responsible for Accounts Payable processing, vendor invoice management, account reconciliations, inventory-related invoicing, and freight claim administration. The role also serves as a backup for Accounts Receivable activities and provides support for month-end accounting processes.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with vendors, internal departments, and fellow accounting team members. Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and obtain appropriate approvals.
- Research and resolve invoice, pricing, quantity, and receiving discrepancies.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable, Receiving Not Invoiced (RNI), and related General Ledger accounts.
- Process inventory and freight invoices and administer freight claims.
- Prepare vendor payments and maintain vendor records.
- Assist with intercompany accounting transactions and reconciliations.
- Provide backup support for customer invoicing, collections, and Accounts Receivable activities.
- Support month-end closing activities and special accounting projects.
- Assist with process improvements and maintain accurate accounting records.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of Accounts Payable, Accounting Assistant, or related accounting experience.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
