Studio Introduction
Miyi Dai Studio is a New York–based interior design studio specializing in high-end residential interiors. The practice combines architectural planning, custom millwork design, and carefully curated furnishings to create thoughtful and elegant living spaces. The studio currently works on residential projects throughout the US.
Internship Position Overview
Interior Design Intern
This internship offers exposure to the full interior design process, including concept development, furniture sourcing, and project coordination. Interns will gain hands-on experience with real residential projects in New York City, working closely with the principal designer on material research, vendor communication, and design documentation.
Responsibilities
• Support site visits and measurements and installation supervision when applicable
• Assist with furniture and material sourcing
• Prepare presentation decks and mood boards
• Help organize FF&E schedules
• Research vendors, products, and pricing
• Assist with design drawings or 3D modeling when needed
• Assist with iPhone filming of project process and studio activities for social media marketing
Qualification
• Background in Interior Design or Architecture
• Pro ciency in SketchUp, Rhino, or AutoCAD
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign / Photoshop)
• Strong design sensibility and attention to detail
• Organized and proactive working style
Position Details
• Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week with a flexible schedule depending on project needs; minimum 3-month commitment preferred starting from June
• Work Format: Hybrid - primarily remote with occasional in-person meetings or site visits in New York
• Compensation: $18-$25 per hour depending on experience
