Duties
- Prepare and present sushi dishes according to traditional Japanese methods and restaurant recipes.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service during peak hours.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating special requests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food service or restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making.
- Familiarity with various types of fish, seafood, and other ingredients used in sushi.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to help others in the kitchen as needed.
- A passion for fine dining experiences and commitment to culinary excellence.
- Previous experience in catering or dietary departments is a plus but not required.
