Sushi Chef/Line Cook

Overview
Mix Sushi Bar is looking for experienced Sushi chefs/line cooks to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi rolls and bowls that meet our restaurant's standards. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to food safety and handling practices. If you have experience in fast casual sushi or catering environments and have excellent knife skills, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food handling and safety regulations are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
• Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
• Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency in taste and appearance.
• Assist with catering events as required, providing exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a restaurant or catering environment.
• Strong knife skills with an emphasis on precision and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and best practices in the kitchen.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Passion for culinary arts with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
