At Mitzvah Circle, we think differently about people in need. We support individuals and families with individualized material support, case management, and coaching. In 2025 we served more than 500,000 people with the help of 4,276 volunteers, 15 full-time staff, and 255 community partners.

Our Volunteer Coordinators engage, train and coordinator individual volunteers, help coordinate groups of volunteers, and help schedule volunteers as well as maintain the positive environment that is an important part of Mitzvah Circle’s culture.

The job includes working with people of all ages and abilities.

Specific responsibilities include:

· Provide guidance and instruction to volunteers regarding Mitzvah Circle's processes and the people we serve

· Lead volunteers and volunteer groups who serve as personal shoppers in our facility

· Schedule and manage volunteer groups

· Able to master technology platforms including Salesforce and our Volunteer Management System

· Works closely with other staff, volunteers, interns and teen ambassadors

· Nurture relationships with volunteers

· Represent Mitzvah Circle at community events

· Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree Required with a minimum 3.0 GPA

· Dedication to service and nonprofit work

· Experience working with individuals and groups of various ages and abilities

· Excels at building relationships

· Enthusiastic and welcoming attitude

· Must have reliable transportation to 435 Doylestown Road, Lansdale

· Able to handle sensitive situations and maintain strict confidentiality

· Very strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

· Can work both independently as well as part of a team

· Ability to prioritize and execute complex tasks in fast-paced work environment

· Able to lift 20-30 pounds multiple times daily

· Multi-tasking and ability to pivot as needed

· Desire to share the vision of Mitzvah Circle with the community

The Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Volunteer Manager.

Hours, Salary, Benefits:

This position is fully in-person. Hours are 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday. Occasional half days on Sundays from 9:45-2:15. Hours worked on Sunday will result in the ability to take a half day the next week with notice given in advance.

Salary: $43,000

Benefits: Our generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 8 sick days, 3 personal days, 3 weeks vacation (1 week we are closed in August; the other two can be any time), medical and 401K.
