Job Description
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to assist our doctors. This talented person will be responsible for transcribing information during clinical visits in real time into electronic health records (EHRs) under physician supervision and make sure that all data is checked for accuracy and any discrepancies are noted.
Duties & Responsibilities: Report to OBS Manager
- Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physicians.
- Listen, observe, and accurately document real-time interactions between healthcare providers and their patients.
- In the exam room, record detailed information into the electronic medical record (EMR) on a laptop or computer.
- Accompany physicians on patient visits, transcribing dictations of patient medical, social, and familial histories, medications, allergies, findings from physical examinations and procedures, and physician recommendations.
- Transcribe diagnoses, symptoms, and results of laboratory and radiographic tests and pending orders for referrals, tests, medications, and procedures as directed by physician.
- Help with room loading and expediting as required.
- Support the administrative team with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Inform visitors of safety rules and practice as they are ready to leave.
- Collaborate with other members of the department to ensure a smooth daily operation of the practice.
- Help with other tasks assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in management with 1 year of experience.
- An associate degree with 3 years of experience in the healthcare field is acceptable.
- Graduating from a medical assistant program is a plus.
- In lieu of a degree, specialized certifications such COA, COT, COMT with at least 2 years of experience are acceptable.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Advanced organizational and detail-oriented skills .
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and Microsoft office.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive patient information.
