Team Member

 

Summary: 

 

The Team Member will be responsible for collecting garbage, debris and other unwanted items from homes and businesses, ensuring all services are performed safely, efficiently, and with the customer’s satisfaction in mind. The Team Leader should have strong communication and problem-solving skills and enjoy physical labor in an ever-changing work environment.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Clean out houses, rental properties, garages, storage units, etc. of unwanted items, garbage and debris.
  2. Pick up construction debris, rubble and other trash and dump it in designated areas.

3.     Follows safety procedures to ensure cleanup is done properly.

4.     Assists in demolition of small structures with the guidance of a Team Leader.

5.     Keeps tools and equipment clean and maintained per guidelines.

6.     Provide excellent customer service both onsite and over the phone.

7.     Performs other related duties as assigned.

8.     Load vehicles with items removed from premises.

9.     Assist in unloading of vehicles / trailers at landfill, recycling centers, and donation centers.

10.  Responsible for filling out required documentation regarding jobs.

  1. Communicate any necessary information to supervisors as needed.
  2. Report to work at scheduled times.
  3. Educate clients about pricing and services.
  4. Complete Daily Checklists.
  5. Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items removed.
  6. Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Lead your team by relevant example, showing them what the core values of the company are all about.
  8. Help to train new hires about the day-to-day operations and core values.
  9. Make sure all daily truck inspections are performed (tire pressure, oil, equipment, etc).
  10. Make sure truck has all tools and supplies needed for the day including safety equipment and marketing material. Communicate any needs to your leader.
  11. Meeting and surpassing benchmarks.
  12. Be able to make logistical decisions (when to dispose, what to donate or recycle, how to best complete a job, how to package items and load a truck, how to market during downtime).
  13. Operate a commercial truck / trailer on a daily basis meeting all DOT requirements of this function.

 

Education, Experience & Skills:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required; ability to pass a background screening; Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be able to pass DOT Physical. Commercial driving experience is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions; cold and heat. The employee may be exposed to and aware of muddy and unstable ground or tripping hazards.

 

The noise level in the work environment may be loud.

·        Must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds without any support and/or up to 100 pounds with proper tools for assistance.

·        Must be able to traverse stairs, hallways, enclosed spaces, and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.

·        Must regularly stand, walk, lift, bend, twist.

·        Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

We are a family-owned Junk Removal company based in Livingston County, Michigan. We service Livingston, Washtenaw, and Oakland Counties and surrounding areas. Our services include general junk removal from homes and commercial establishments, light demolition, and estate / property clean-outs.
