Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Generator Controls Engineer based in Orlando, FL, with some flexibility for remote work. The role involves designing, testing, and maintaining generator control systems to ensure optimal performance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, supporting the integration of control systems with other technologies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives. The engineer will contribute to advancements in process control systems and motion control technologies, supporting the development of cutting-edge solutions.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in Process Control and Electrical Engineering, essential for designing and optimizing generator control systems.
- Proficiency in generator issues troubleshooting, identifying and resolving technical challenges efficiently and effectively.
- Proficiency in generator excitation systems and controls, AVRs, Generator Protection Relays, SFCs and experience in integrating and maintaining systems involving these technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Experience with electrical grid standards and codes is a plus.
- Experience with generator rewinds -stator and rotor- is desirable.
- Experience with HV transformers is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with relevant experience preferred.
