SUMMARY
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions (MEIDS) is building the foundational team for our new Cambridge, MA office near Kendall Square. We’re looking for a UX Designer to shape intuitive, user-focused experiences across multiple digital products. In this individual-contributor role, you’ll own research and design efforts, collaborate closely with Product and Engineering, and help strengthen our design team. You’ll independently drive scoped design work, conduct user research, and bring evidence-based insights to project teams. 1. Design Execution & Quality
- Own and deliver user research, interviews, journey mapping, and usability testing.
- Translate user needs and technical constraints into clear design direction.
- Guide discovery, wireframing, prototyping, and UI refinement.
- Create production-ready design assets for engineering, including wireframes, clickable prototypes, or high-fidelity mockups using modern design tools.
2. Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with product owners on requirements and prioritization.
- Align closely with Engineering on feasibility and implementation.
3. Research, Insights & Metrics
- Promote the use of qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Define frameworks to measure UX impact and user outcomes.
- Perform research directly with users.
4. Operations & Design Process
- Use standard UX tools, workflows, and documentation.
- Ensure consistent application of design systems and accessibility standards.
- Leverage AI to optimize design workflows when appropriate.

Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience, or— in lieu of professional experience—completion of formal education or training in UX methodologies (e.g., HCI, Interaction Design, Design Research, or a related field). Recent graduates will be considered.
- Experience collaborating in Agile/Scrum environments (sprint planning, backlog refinement, definition of done/ready).
- Education or applied experience in UX, design, research, behavioral sciences, information science, engineering, computer science, or similar
- Ability to contribute components or patterns
Other things that will help you
- Portfolio demonstrating UX capabilities on digital products and experiences
- Working understanding of APIs, data flows, and feasibility tradeoffs; ability to read basic specs and discuss edge cases.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research synthesis, content generation, or prototyping accelerators.
Location & Travel
- Hybrid role based in Cambridge, MA (3 days/week onsite).
- Occasional travel to Foxboro HQ, U.S. business sites, and/or Yokohama, Japan.
- Some early/late meetings to collaborate with global teams.
