Job Description
The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing capital projects within the site. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, engineering, and a deep understanding of the chemical plant environment.
Principal Accountabilities
Lead and manage capital projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations to ensure project objectives are met.
Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimations, and technical evaluations for proposed projects.
Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports, and final project documentation to stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify and mitigate potential project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring quality work and adherence to project specifications.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.

Must maintain and routinely engage with an excellent network of contacts in MCG’s manufacturing and technical communities.
Must work very closely with the plant operating teams and be extremely comfortable in a plant environment on an initiative-taking basis. Must maintain an elevated level of sensitivity to plant operations – not waiting for calls – while achieving longer term improvement objectives.
Knowledge/ Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or engineering within a chemical plant or similar industrial environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Proven track record of successfully managing small to medium capital projects from inception to completion.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant engineering guidelines and best practices.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $114,100-$120,800. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
