Principal Accountabilities
- Maintain safe and continuous manufacturing operations by performing electrical modifications in accordance with NEC codes and applicable standards.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and complete electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs as required.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems; recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and spare parts inventory to optimize equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain mechanical systems, electronic controls, instrumentation, and standard power systems using manuals, blueprints, schematics, precision measuring instruments, and hand/power tools.
- Install, start up, and/or assist with start-up of complex power, control, and instrumentation systems.
- Support Engineering with installation of basic to intermediate control and instrumentation systems.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills on major plant systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical components including bearings, gearboxes, pumps, chain drives, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic circuits on individual machines and integrated systems.
- Inspect, dismantle, and test machinery to determine defects and root causes of failure.
- Align and adjust equipment to required tolerances, including timing and clearance adjustments.
- Modify equipment with or without blueprints in collaboration with Plant Engineering.
- Assemble, reassemble, and commission equipment to verify proper operation.
- Operate basic machine shop equipment (lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.) to fabricate, repair, or modify components; utilize brazing, soldering, and welding techniques as needed.
- Perform basic carpentry work as required.
- Install piping systems in compliance with regulatory and local codes (e.g., process piping, air lines, general plumbing).
- Utilize the MPulse Maintenance System to review work requests, document labor hours, record completed work, and issue parts from inventory to work orders.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and process optimization teams.
- Maintain work areas and company property in accordance with 5S housekeeping standards.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Attend required training and recertification programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision or team leadership.
- Associates degree in electrical engineering technology (or related field),**or**a minimum of five (5) years of industrial electrical experience at an advanced skill level equivalent to or exceeding Journeyman certification.
- Minimum five (5) years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience, including hands-on work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret SDS sheets, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), a d Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Proficiency in reading and applying blueprints, schematics, and equipment service manuals.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Electrical systems and electronic controls
- Mechanical systems and general repair techniques
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Basic PLC and logic systems
- Lubrication systems
- Welding and fabrication techniques
- Proficient in preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies.
- Physically capable of performing required job duties.
