Job Description: About the Role We are seeking a motivated and safety-driven Crew Manager to lead our night-shift manufacturing operations at Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials in Scranton, PA. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing production environment while driving continuous improvement and team development across all departments. Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership Be the on-site safety champion, promoting and enforcing all safety systems and policies. Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately, conduct root-cause investigations for incidents, and ensure all employees receive and comply with required safety training. Production Management Oversee all work centers to ensure production goals are met safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Collaborate with scheduling to meet customer demands, eliminate barriers to production, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Staffing & Communication Maintain proper staffing levels and ensure team members are trained, assigned appropriately, and remain on task. Act as the key communication link between night-shift employees and leadership, providing clear updates on priorities, results, and significant events. Training & Development Partner with Department Managers to implement and track training standards for new and existing employees. Foster skill development, identify potential future leaders, and promote cross-training to build a flexible and engaged workforce. Quality & Housekeeping Ensure all quality procedures are followed and 5S standards are maintained. Reinforce the connection between organization, cleanliness, and safety, and ensure all production areas are kept in optimal working condition. Documentation & Discipline Maintain accurate employee records, enforce plant rules in alignment with company policy, and document all coaching, performance discussions, and corrective actions. Partner with HR and management to ensure accountability and compliance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 3–5 years of manufacturing experience (plastics industry preferred) Proven leadership and team management experience Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of industrial equipment Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Why Join Us At Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials, we’re dedicated to innovation, safety, and sustainability. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
