Job Description: Process Engineer 📍 Location: Reading, PA Are you ready to make a direct impact on production performance, safety, and innovation? We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team and drive improvements across manufacturing operations. This role is a critical technical resource—supporting production teams in advancing safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, while also contributing to profitability. You’ll provide hands-on troubleshooting, lead process improvement projects, and collaborate with global R&D teams to enhance manufacturing methods, tooling, and raw material usage. If you’re motivated by solving problems, optimizing processes, and implementing new technologies, this role is for you. What You’ll Do Partner with production teams to improve processes, methods, and operating conditions. Provide day-to-day troubleshooting support to resolve production issues quickly and effectively. Review production performance (safety, quality, scrap, rework) and implement corrective actions. Lead projects to design, justify, and implement new equipment and capital expenditures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase yield, reduce cycle time, and optimize costs. Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Audit tooling processes, inventory, and quality; ensure compliance with procedures. Obtain quotes, write Capital Expense Requests (CERs), and oversee installation of equipment/tooling. Collaborate with global R&D teams on process improvements and product development efforts. Act as a leader on the production floor, modeling company culture and safety standards. What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Experience: Background in process engineering or polymer processing (stock shapes and advanced materials experience preferred). Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) strongly preferred. Experience with Statistics, DOE, and process optimization. Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and multitask. 2 – 4 years of industry experience in process engineering or polymer processing Preferred - preferably in stock shapes and advanced materials Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools. Excellent communication skills—both written and oral. SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred. Ability to collaborate across functions (Safety, Maintenance, Quality, Production, Business). Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
