DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: Sales/Marketing

Reports To: VP of Business Development

The Director of Business Development will assist in expanding overall revenue and profitability. Responsibilities include building and strengthening internal and external relationships, managing customer relations, and implementing strategies designed to increase revenue and acquire new business opportunities. You should also be able to collaborate with the marketing team to develop innovative marketing strategies.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Building and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for the company.
  • Research new markets and emerging market trends
  • Developing new partnerships
  • Formulate and implement an account management plan to ensure that business relations are properly maintained.
  • Job site visits and collecting of information required to write proposals for architectural and design services.
  • Maintain current client relationships and identifying areas for potential clients.
  • Research the latest in the industry and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with sales and design team to ensure client requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit goals.
  • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, commercial design or a similar field
  • About 5 years of proven sales or project management experience
  • Experience within the Architecture and Commercial Interior Design industry
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in previous CRM software is a plus
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Outstanding leadership and management skills
  • Detail oriented and persuasive
  • Be proactive, organized and handle work under stressful and uncertain environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: starting $90,000 per year
