Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living assistance. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, reporting any concerns promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Follow detailed care plans created by healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment
- Collaborate with healthcare teams including nurses, social workers, and therapists to ensure comprehensive care delivery
Requirements
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease), or memory care is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use mobility aids effectively
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with clients and team members
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for community-based care roles
