Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living assistance. This vital role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment while promoting independence and well-being. As a Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met with professionalism and kindness.

Duties

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
• Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, reporting any concerns promptly
• Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
• Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
• Follow detailed care plans created by healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care
• Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment
• Collaborate with healthcare teams including nurses, social workers, and therapists to ensure comprehensive care delivery

Requirements

• Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease), or memory care is desirable
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use mobility aids effectively
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
• Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with clients and team members
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for community-based care roles
