For decades, construction and field services contractors have had to run their businesses on outdated software: clunky, on-premise systems created in the 1980s and 1990s.

That’s where Miter comes in. We’re using AI and embedded payments to rebuild the core HR, finance, and operations systems that underpin our physical economy. Using Miter, contractors like Marathon Electrical, W.J. O’Neil, and Truebeck Construction are building stronger teams, controlling job costs, and accelerating jobsite execution.

This idea is resonating. Since we launched in 2022, we’ve grown to thousands of customers and tens of millions in ARR, making us one of the fastest growing vertical software companies ever. To double-down on our momentum, we’ve raised $50M from top investors (Bessemer, Coatue, and Battery) who share our belief that we’re just getting started.

Hybrid vs. Remote Approach:

We believe the magic of Miter comes from working side by side. We also believe in work flexibility. For roles that are listed as hybrid, our approach is 3 days a week in the office giving us the chance to connect, brainstorm, and build stronger relationships. If you live within a reasonable commute to either our New York City or San Francisco offices, we ask that you work in our hybrid approach.

Otherwise, for roles listed as remote or in other cities where we don't have an office location, there is no requirement to work in our hybrid approach. We do travel a few times a year for onboarding, company wide, and team specific offsites!

About the Team & How We Work:

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform and Ecosystem teams. This team sits at the intersection of customer need and engineering scale. As its manager, you’ll work cross-functionally with Design and Product, coach a growing team of full stack engineers, and help deliver high-quality, customer-loved software that supports the future of the built world.

We’re building an engineering culture centered on craft, ownership, and collaboration. Many of our engineers are former founders. We hire for slope, not intercept. And we believe talent-dense, AI-native teams can out-ship larger ones with more overhead. A few things that define us:

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and grow a high-performing team of full stack engineers focused on platform and integrations product experiences.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to define the roadmap, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality outcomes for our customers.
• Drive clarity and execution across a fast-moving team; helping engineers scope projects, make sound technical decisions, and ship reliably.
• Coach and support engineers with regular feedback, career development, and performance management.
• Build and scale the team partnering with Recruiting to attract, hire, and retain exceptional technical talent.
• Create leverage through documentation, process, and tooling, helping your team stay fast and focused as we grow.
  
  

What You’ll Need:

• 2 years of engineering management experience, plus 5 years building and shipping software in production environments.
• A track record of hiring and scaling great teams, especially in early-stage or high-growth environments.
• Comfort with technical depth. You should be able to review design docs and PRs, debug logs, and help your team navigate architectural decisions.
• A product-minded approach. You care about solving real customer problems and want to see your team’s work drive tangible impact.
• Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where autonomy, scrappiness, and speed are essential.

Compensation Range: $220K - $260K
