Summary

A Training Associate job in Tacoma, WA, is available at Milgard Windows and Doors at our Vinyl internal supply plant. You must provide general new hire and job-specific training to existing employees in the plant. In addition, you will be responsible for standard work audits, job instruction training (JIT), audits, and remedial training.

The hourly compensation range is between $25.00 - $32.00, depending on experience. This position is eight hours per day Monday through Friday with variable start times.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate training for new hires related to Company policies, procedures, products, safety protocols, and continuous improvement (CI) tools and methodology.
• Provide individual and group training leveraging the Job Instruction (JI) method.
• Train new and existing JI Trainers, conduct regular audits of the JI process, and maintain records.
• Make required updates to Standard Work, maintain document control for the official Standard Work documents, and provide reports as required.
• Conduct Standard Work audits and provide corrective feedback to employees, leads, and supervisors when required.
• Coordinate training and participate in material updates as necessary in addition to managing in-house lab training facilities and equipment.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities as required.
• Demonstrate MITER Guiding Principles in all business interactions.
• Adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in custom manufacturing and warehouse processes.
• Experience as a certified Job Instruction (JI) trainer is preferred.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, leads, and employees.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs.
• A strong advocate and proponent of Milgard to new employees.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
