Job Summary
The Powder Coat Machine Operator is responsible for operating powder coating equipment to apply finishes to pultruded fiberglass/composite products. This role ensures proper application, curing, and overall quality while meeting safety, production, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust powder coating machines and spray systems
- Load, unload, and properly position pultruded parts on racks or conveyors
- Apply powder coatings according to work instructions and specifications
- Monitor and control curing ovens, temperatures, and line speeds
- Inspect coated products for coverage, thickness, color consistency, and defects
- Perform routine cleaning, minor adjustments, and basic machine maintenance
- Accurately document production and quality data as required
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including PPE and material handling guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous manufacturing or powder coating experience preferred
- Ability to read work orders and follow standard operating procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a hot, industrial environment
