What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Assistant position at Mitchell Technical College?
Mitchell Technical College is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to support daily operations at the Chef’s Bistro. This role works closely with the Food Service Coordinator to ensure high-quality food service for students, staff, and visitors, with breakfast and lunch served each school day.
Position would be approximately 35 hours per week while school is in session from August to May.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Food Service Coordinator in all aspects of daily food service operations
- Support food preparation, service, and kitchen organization
- Maintain compliance with all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards
- Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure a positive dining experience
- Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a welcoming environment
- Help maintain inventory, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen and serving areas
Qualifications
- ServSafe Certification (required or ability to obtain)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in food service or a related field
- Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, team-oriented, and attentive to detail
