Mitchell Technical College is seeking a Director for Marketing and Public Information. This is a full-time, salaried position with a start date based on availability of the successful candidate.
The Director for Marketing and Public Information is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that drive student recruitment, enhance the college’s brand identity, and foster community engagement.
The Director will lead efforts to define and maintain the college’s brand voice, execute data-driven enrollment campaigns (digital, social, print, and broadcast), and foster industry and community relations to highlight workforce development initiatives. This role focuses on bridging the gap between industry needs and student career goals, promoting high-demand trade and technology programs to a diverse demographic.
This position requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of marketing analytics and the ability to pivot strategies quickly based on changing labor market trends and enrollment data.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Baccalaureate Degree from a four-year, regionally accredited degree-granting institution. A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred.

Significant professional experience in progressive marketing is preferred, ideally within higher education, technical training, or an industry-aligned sector. Experience in post-secondary education is desirable.

Strong technical skills, including proficiency with CRM systems, familiarity with creative software, and experience with Google Analytics and ad-buying platforms (Meta, Google Ads).

Successful history of managing a marketing budget and ensuring maximum Return on Investment (ROI) through rigorous tracking and analytics.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, both written and verbal.

Deep understanding of the "Value of the Trades" and the unique motivations of traditional and non-traditional students is preferred.

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires that the college’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which includes crime statistics be made available to prospective employees and prospective students upon request. Mitchell Tech’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported Clery crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault prevention and response, timely warnings, emergency response, and other matters.
