What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreational Aid for Disabled Adult position at Mitchell Real Estate?
Male assistant needed to accompany male disabled adult with his daily activities. A typical day includes helping with meals and household chores, hanging out and watching tv, and going on outings like walks in the park and bike rides.
Other responsibilities vary widely. Depending on your availability, interests, and client needs. You may be taking him to concerts, movies, sporting events, helping with community college classes, accompanying him to doctors appointments and therapy sessions, or other activities as the need arises.
Client is 6'2" 220 pounds. He loves sports, watching his favorite LA teams on tv and going to Cal Poly games. He likes listening to music, on the radio during car rides and going to concerts at the mid state fair. He also loves movies and food, and looks forward to going out for both on the weekends.
We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and a good communicator. Someone who can be a motivational role model and work with him to foster self esteem and work towards more independence. Experience in special education would do well here, but anyone with a heart for the disabled — regardless of major — is encouraged to apply.
Must have reliable transportation with a backseat. You will be transporting the client. A clean driving record and a live scan is required.
This position has the ability to provide more hours to the right person.
Pay: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour
