We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fleet Mechanic to join our team.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of equipment—from small engines to heavy-duty trucks. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40-hour work week, OT opportunities

Compensation: Highly competitive; pay is based on skill level and competency

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Repair

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Work on both 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines
• Perform repairs on diesel and gas-powered vehicles and equipment

Maintenance & Preventative Care

• Perform routine maintenance, tune-ups, and inspections
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Identify and resolve issues before they become major problems

Equipment & Fleet Service

Maintain and repair a wide variety of equipment, including:

• Lawn & landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, tillers, chainsaws)
• Construction equipment (generators, air compressors, etc.)
• Heavy equipment (excavators, skid steers, mini loaders, UTVs)
• Fleet vehicles (pickup trucks, trailers, heavy-duty trucks such as dump trucks)

Shop Operations & Recordkeeping

• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Manage parts ordering, inventory, and procurement
• Keep workspace clean, organized, and safe
• Document work in fleet management systems

Collaboration & Support

• Work with team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Provide occasional field service support when needed
• Communicate clearly regarding repair status and equipment needs

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

• Proven, verifiable experience as a mechanic (small engine and/or fleet)
• Strong knowledge of:
• • Engine systems (fuel, ignition, electrical)
  • Diesel and gas engines
  • Hydraulics and mechanical systems
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues independently
• Valid class-E driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred

• Familiarity with Welding, Fabrication
• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
• Trade school certification or formal training

Tools

• Must have, or be willing to acquire, necessary tools

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout the day
• Work performed in shop and occasional outdoor environments
• Exposure to varying weather conditions when working in the field
