Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator – Dermatology
Job Type: Part-time/Full-time (27–35 hours per week)
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced, friendly, and dependable Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Coordinator to join our busy dermatology practice. The ideal candidate has previous medical front office experience, is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys providing exceptional customer service to patients.
Dermatology experience is preferred, and experience using EMA (Modernizing Medicine) is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients with professionalism and compassion.
- Check patients in and out for appointments.
- Verify insurance eligibility and accurately enter insurance information into the electronic medical record.
- Collect insurance cards, referrals, and any required documentation.
- Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding patient balances.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Answer and direct incoming calls.
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Assist providers and clinical staff with daily office workflow.
- Perform opening and closing front office duties.
- Keep the reception area organized and welcoming.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical front desk or medical receptionist experience preferred.
- Dermatology office experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience verifying insurance, entering insurance information, and collecting patient payments.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Experience with EMA (Modernizing Medicine) is highly preferred.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Reliable, professional, and a positive team player.
