Position: Healthcare Science Teacher

Position Summary:
Mitchell County High School seeks a dynamic and dedicated Healthcare Science Teacher to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in healthcare fields. The ideal candidate will inspire students to pursue careers in healthcare, integrate industry standards into the classroom, and support students’ academic and professional growth.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality instruction in healthcare science courses, including theory and practical applications.
• Develop lesson plans that align with state standards, CTAE curriculum, and industry certifications.
• Provide hands-on laboratory and clinical experiences to prepare students for healthcare careers.
• Assess and monitor student performance, providing feedback and support to ensure academic success.
• Prepare students for certification exams (e.g., CNA, CPR, First Aid, or other applicable healthcare certifications).
• Collaborate with colleagues, CTAE staff, and industry partners to enhance program quality.
• Maintain an organized and safe learning environment in labs and classrooms.
• Advise and mentor students on career pathways, college readiness, and work-based learning opportunities.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and the MCHS mission to foster student achievement.

Criteria and Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Science, Nursing, Allied Health, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification: Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate or eligibility in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Healthcare Science.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare principles, practices, and industry standards.
• Demonstrated ability to teach diverse student populations in secondary education settings.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to integrate technology and healthcare equipment into instruction.
• Commitment to student success, professional growth, and collaboration with faculty and community partners.
