Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding animals’ needs and behaviors.
- Support training initiatives by reinforcing basic commands and behaviors with dogs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of animal care are met.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care or pet care is preferred but not required. We can train the right candidate.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is beneficial.
- Customer service experience is a plus, as interaction with community members is essential.
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices or veterinary technician skills is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment.
