Position Title: Athletic Trainer
Qualifications: Valid credentialing and/or licensing in Athletic Training as determined by the Athletic Director
Supervisor: MCS Athletic Director & MHS Principal
Essential Abilities:
Will demonstrate good time management skills in order to provide good customer service and enhance
productivity.
Conduct physical examinations and pre-participation screenings.
Evaluate injuries by obtaining medical history and assessing the injury; determine a treatment care plan.
Select and properly fit protective equipment.
Tape and brace athletes/workers as required to prevent injury.
Perform therapeutic modalities, exercise, and manual techniques.
Provide coverage at assigned school events in accordance with established contracts.
Educate athletes and clients about injuries and how to prevent injuries.
Recommend appropriate physician/provider to athlete and/or clients based on injury.
Educate community organizations about athletic training and healthcare.
Educate athletes and clients how to properly train and condition and on proper body mechanics and exercise.
Will help maintain stock levels of supplies for the Training Room
Will assist with patient treatments under the direction and supervision of the therapist..
Will assist with departmental Performance Improvement functions.
Will assist with the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patient treatments.
Will attend pertinent departmental monthly meetings
Terms of employment:
o Rate of Pay: TBD Based on Experience
o Paid Days of Employment: 190 days
o Hours of Employment Per Day: 11:00am - 7:30pm; Hours may vary on game days
o The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
