What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Operator (Bilingual in Mandarin or Cantonese) position at Mitac Information Systems Corp?
We are seeking seven experienced and highly organized Warehouse Operators to join our team. Four openings are based at our Newark location, and three are based at our Hayward location.
This is a temporary-to-hire, full-time position. As a warehouse operator, you will be responsible for managing inventory, operating equipment, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods in a warehouse setting.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:40 PM (with a 40-minute unpaid lunch break). Overtime and Saturday work may be required based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Processing Shipments: Unload incoming shipments, inspect for damages, and verify contents against invoices or manifests.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and report discrepancies to management.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring that items are correctly labeled and securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
- Equipment Operation: Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move goods within the warehouse safely.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean and organized, adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Communication: Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors regarding inventory issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills to ensure accurate inventory management and order fulfillment.
- Equipment Proficiency: Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery is preferred.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with inventory management software and basic data entry tasks.
Work Environment:
Lifting and moving heavy items, may require working in shifts, including evenings and weekends, depending on the operational needs of the facility.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
