Business Process Analyst - Finance Date: Apr 14, 2026 Location: Lexington, MA, US Company: MIT Lincoln Laboratory Job Description We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Process Analyst to join our dynamic Finance team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to driving operational excellence by completing analysis, design and documentation of financial workflows and systems. The successful candidate will bring expertise in business process improvement and possess a strong financial acumen to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accuracy across the organization. Duties and Responsibilities Analyze and document current-state financial processes. Identify pain points, opportunities for efficiency as well as risk review and mitigation. Design future-state financial workflows, processes, and controls that leverage technology and automation to drive efficiency and operational excellence. Identify opportunities for automation, leveraging financial software and other applications/tools Contribute to finance transformation projects from conception to completion by evaluating problem statements and participating in solution design, testing, deployment and organizational change management activities. Assist in the tracking and reporting of key process performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of processes and identify new opportunities for improvement. Serve as a liaison between finance and other organizational groups to ensure systems and processes are aligned with business needs and technical capabilities. Review new and updated processes to ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (e.g., GAAP), and other regulatory requirements. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by staying current on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to financial process engineering. Qualifications - Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. 5+ years of experience in process documentation and design or related role. Strong experience with process improvement such as Lean Six Sigma- Green Belt or higher preferred Experience with process mapping tools as well as major ERP’s such as SAP S/4 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Join our dynamic team.
