Company Overview Our client is a 100-year-old regional building materials dealer with $150M in revenue across 8 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This established organization serves residential builders and multifamily general contractors with a comprehensive portfolio of building materials and services. Leveraging their years of market presence and deep industry relationships, they are strategically expanding their existing truss and components manufacturing division to enhance capabilities and strengthen their value proposition to customers.
The Opportunity We are seeking a Truss and Components General Manager to lead this manufacturing division. This opportunity offers full P&L responsibility for a $15M operation within a growing, established organization that understands manufacturing excellence and is committed to long-term success.
You'll operate a 75,000 square foot facility with the operational advantages of shared campus infrastructure including rail access and strong procurement support. This role provides the opportunity to build upon an existing truss operation within an organization with deep market knowledge and established customer relationships throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
What You Will Need to be Successful:
- Proven P&L Leadership: Full profit and loss responsibility for $15M truss and components manufacturing operations with demonstrated ability to drive growth and profitability
- Team Building Excellence: Track record of attracting, developing, and leading high-performing manufacturing teams in competitive markets
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Ability to establish and foster a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and ongoing process enhancement
- Operational Systems Development: Experience creating and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) that drive operational efficiencies, ensure quality consistency, and enable scalable growth
- Automation Experience: Proven background working with automated manufacturing systems and processes to optimize production efficiency and quality control
- Industry Technology Knowledge: MiTek experience preferred, along with familiarity with truss design software and component manufacturing systems
