Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, including cocktails, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Process sales transactions accurately while handling cash and credit card payments
- Upsell menu items and drink specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in dining areas, including bussing tables and food handling
- Assist with food preparation when needed and support kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- Use reservation systems like OpenTable to manage guest seating efficiently
- Educate guests about menu options, wine pairings, and beverage selections to enhance their dining experience
- Foster guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring satisfaction from start to finish
Requirements
- Husker football home games are MANDATORY!
- Proven experience as a Server in a food industry or restaurant setting, preferably with fine dining experience
- Familiarity with POS systems such as SPOT ON for reservations and sales processing
- Strong knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine, and drink presentation
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell effectively while maintaining professionalism
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly
- Culinary experience or food handling knowledge is highly desirable
- Experience with food safety standards and sanitation practices in a restaurant environment
- Exceptional time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Previous host/hostess or bussing experience is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive attitude
