Job Opening: Project Coordinator – Steel Quality Control
Location: Olean, NY

Pay Rate: $60–$70 per hour
Position Overview
MISTRAS is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator with Quality Control (QC) experience in the steel industry for a project in Olean, New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fabrication, quality assurance, and project coordination, along with hands-on experience working with NYSDOT requirements and D1.5 welding standards.
This is an onsite position, and candidates must be local to the Olean, NY area. Relocation is not available.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate project activities, schedules, documentation, and quality control requirements.
- Monitor steel fabrication and inspection activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
- Review quality documentation, inspection reports, welding records, and related project paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code and applicable NYSDOT specifications and requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, welders, fabricators, and other project personnel.
- Track project progress, identify quality issues, and assist with corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate QC records and ensure required documentation is completed and submitted on time.
- Support quality audits, inspections, and project reporting as needed.
- Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, QC Coordinator, or similar role in the steel industry.
- Experience with AWS D1.5 welding requirements is required.
- NYSDOT experience is required.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication, welding inspection, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to review technical documents, inspection reports, and project specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Must be local to Olean, NY, or the surrounding area.
- Must be able to work onsite for the duration of the project.
- $60–$70 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
