What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive and Family Operations Manager position at Mister Sparky of North San Antonio, TX?
Benefits:
Position Overview
Mister Sparky is hiring an Executive & Family Operations Manager on behalf of one of our
entrepreneurial leadership families. This is a hybrid role that blends the responsibilities of a private house
manager with those of a personal/executive assistant. You will be the steady, trusted presence who
keeps the household running smoothly while also supporting the Director of Operations directly with
calendar, inbox, and administrative needs. The goal of this role is simple: free up our leadership family to
focus fully on their work, their health, and their three children (ages 9, 11, and 15), while trusting that
home is fully taken care of.
This position is employed directly by Mister Sparky and includes full company benefits, in addition to
salary (TBD) and a per diem for any overnight stays required for family travel or coverage. Because this
role sits at a high level of trust within the family, a signed NDA and clearance of a full background check
are required before start.
Key Responsibilities
Household Family Operations
• Maintain the day-to-day flow of the home, working around a fluid, ever-changing family schedule.
• Cooking and kitchen management — comfortable and confident in the kitchen; prepare easy,
healthy meals to reheat, prep produce/snacks, and occasionally cook full meals (this role is NOT
housekeeping).
• Restaurant or professional kitchen experience is a strong plus.
• Daily carpool and school pick-up/drop-off for the children, plus transportation to sports practices and
activities when parents are unavailable. A company vehicle will be provided for carpool and child
pick-up duties.
• Serve as a mentor and positive, consistent presence for the children — holding them accountable
for homework, helping them get ready for practices, and being a trustworthy adult in their day-to-day
lives.
• Comfortable and confident around children of all ages (9, 11, and 15) as well as the family's two large dogs.
• Coordinate household services and vendors — pest control, plumbing, internet, pool, landscaping,
and other contractors — including researching, price-shopping, and reading reviews to find the right
solution when something needs fixing.
• Run errands as needed: dry cleaning, groceries, vet and grooming visits, mail, and transporting
items between the home and the Director of Operations' office.
Executive Support
• Manage and respond to email correspondence on behalf of the Director of Operations.
• Manage and organize calendars, appointments, and scheduling.
• General organization and administrative support, with the expectation that this role can flex into
higher-level executive assistant duties while on-site.
• Maintain strict confidentiality around sensitive business and family information (NDA required).
What Success Looks Like
The right person eliminates the mental load of running a household for a busy, entrepreneurial family.
They anticipate needs before being asked, solve problems independently, and treat the family's home
and business with the same level of care and discretion. No task is “beneath” this role — the purpose is
to make everyday life more efficient and easier for the family.
A Unique Opportunity for Future Entrepreneurs
This role is especially well-suited to someone with a future interest in entrepreneurship. As a close,
trusted member of an entrepreneurial family's day-to-day world, you'll be positioned to shadow their
approach to business, leadership, and decision-making, and to build a genuine network alongside them.
For the right candidate, this is more than a job — it's a front-row seat to how a successful entrepreneur
operates, day in and day out.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Incredible attention to detail — this is non-negotiable for success in this role.
• Highly organized with strong, independent problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with direct, candid communication.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Genuinely good with children and comfortable around two large dogs in the home.
• Flexible availability — hours will vary week to week based on family needs; most work falls during
core weekday hours, with Fridays offered as flex/remote.
• Willingness to occasionally stay overnight when needed (per diem provided).
• Must pass a background check, education verification, and national sex offender registry check,
sign a non-disclosure agreement, and complete an Innermetrix assessment.
• Restaurant, hospitality, or professional kitchen experience preferred.
• Prior experience as a house manager, family assistant, executive assistant, or nanny/family mentor
strongly preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
• Employed directly by Mister Sparky with access to full company benefits.
• Salary: TBD (commensurate with experience).
• 90-day probationary period, with a salary increase to take effect upon successful completion and
confirmation of fit for the role.
• Per diem provided for any overnight stays.
• Flexible, fluid schedule built around the needs of the family.
• Fridays offered as a flex/remote day.
• Company vehicle provided for daily school carpool and child pick-up/drop-off.
