Job Summary
The Sports Medicine Student Assistant will work directly with the MoWest Sports Medicine Department to assist in daily duties and practice/game coverages for assigned sport.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a high-level Sports Medicine staff that works directly with the student-athletes at Missouri Western State University. The Sports Medicine staff are contracted through Mosaic Life Care and is the preferred provider of the Missouri Western State University Athletics Department.

Essential Duties
- Assist with moving and setting up sports medicine equipment for games/practice. Includes breakdown and clean up.
- Observe injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and treatment with injured student-athletes.
- Assist with stocking of sport medicine supplies.
- Assist with cleaning and disinfecting of athletic training room tables/ other medical equipment. Potential to assist in emergency situations, i.e., help call 911 or flag down EMS
- Assist with hydration for student-athletes during practices/games.
- Other duties or tasks assigned by Sports Medicine staff.
Required Qualifications
- Must have to be able to obtain an up-to-date CPR/AED certification
- MoWest Student
- Degree Seeking
- At least an overall 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled at least part-time (6 hours)
Preferred Qualifications
CPR/AED certification

- General interest in Sports Medicine
Physical Demands
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
