Job Description
Missouri Western State University invites candidates for a Director of Workforce Development. Under the supervision of the Provost, this position will oversee all workforce development initiatives for Missouri Western. The successful candidate will collaborate with Missouri Western faculty and staff and area industry partners to address the workforce needs of the region. The position will implement training programming at the Houlne Center and other programming related upskilling and continuing professional education, with attention to revenue generation through development of non credit and for credit programming.
This position will require supervisory experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Oversee day-to-day operations specific to the Houlne Center and its users (faculty, students, and external partners).
- Direct activities to establish and maintain compliance with policies, standards, and procedures to ensure that technical, professional, and safety standards are met.
- Supervise assigned staff, including full-time, part-time, or temporary staffing. Participate in their selection, training, mentoring, and evaluation.
- Manage operating expenditures in compliance with established budget. Ensure effective and efficient use of resources, including staff, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure proper staffing of Houlne Center during use, which may include MWSU courses, NCMC courses, workforce development trainings, admissions and recruiting tours, and other special events.
- Enforce safety protocols and compliance guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all facility users.
- Develop opportunities for revenue generation through development of non- and for-credit programming through internal means, third-party partnerships, and other relevant relationships.
- Assist in gathering operational data in support of strategic planning, budgeting, grant applications or other proposals to benefit Missouri Western.
- Collaboration and communication with faculty, researchers, and industry partners to support ongoing projects, experiments, and research initiatives; with internal stakeholders to coordinate laboratory schedules, resources, and priorities.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners, including industry leadership panels, area chambers and EDCs, and other relevant entities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
