What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Care Assistant position at Missouri Table & Chair?
Job Description: Be a companion to an autistic male named Cary who is 46 years old. Eventually be a live in with Cary as a companion after getting to know him. Cary, who is non verbal has a comfortable home of his own. Cary attends a day program M-F and has other aides to assist at other times.
Job Duties: To provide safety, training and a positive environment so both the aide and the autistic person have satisfying days together.
- Be active with some activities such as:
- Exercising by walking or going to gym
- Going to library
- Buying groceries
- Making dinner
- reading
Job Requirements: Must have had experience with disabled people and to:
- Be able to pass a background exam.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Hold at least a high school diploma
- Live in Lee's Summit, MO area
- Have a cell phone
- Be kind and have lots of patience
Will adapt schedule to fit both Cary and the care giver.
