Role Description
This is an on-site, full-time position based in Joplin, MO, leading Academic Success initiatives at Missouri Southern State University. The Director of Academic Support Services support the operations of the Student Success Center to ensure academic programs, resources, and support services meet the needs of the students. Responsibilities include managing staff and resources, designing student success initiatives, evaluating academic support services, collaborating with faculty and staff, and providing leadership to enhance retention and academic achievement of students.
Qualifications
- Leadership and management skills with experience supervising teams and overseeing program implementation.
- Ability to plan, evaluate, and improve academic success initiatives and support programs.
- Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
- Knowledge and experience in academic advising, tutoring programs, or student retention strategies.
- Understanding of best practices in educational programming and student success initiatives.
- Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred.
- Experience in higher education academic support services is highly desired.
