Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, energetic and passionate Drum Instructor to inspire and develop students of all ages in the art of drumming. Responsibilities
- Teach comprehensive drum lesson plans tailored to students’ skill levels and musical interests
- Teach individual and occasional small group drum classes, ensuring each student receives personalized attention
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, promoting respectful behavior and active participation
- Incorporate diverse teaching techniques such as drum kit playing, percussion/set note reading, lesson planning per individual, and performance coaching
- Support students’ progress by providing constructive feedback and encouragement
- Prepare students for recitals/performances to showcase student achievements and boost confidence
- Collaborate with other instructors on music education programs
Qualifications
- Proven experience in playing drums, reading drum music, teaching drums or percussion instruments across various age groups, and taking multiple years of drum lessons
- Strong knowledge of rhythm, timing, and musical theory related to percussion instruments
- Ability to explain and demonstrate engaging curricula that cater to different learning styles and skill levels
- Excellent one on one classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment
- Experience working with children, teens or adults in educational settings
- Familiarity with early childhood development principles and special education needs is a plus
- Skills in lesson planning, behavior management, and adapting instruction for diverse learners
- Additional talents such as teaching other instruments is beneficial but not required; they can enhance creative teaching approaches
