The Missouri Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) is seeking a detail-oriented, people-forward events professional to lead the planning, coordination and execution of all association events and continuing education programs. This is a hands-on role with high visibility and real impact for Missouris independent agency community; insurance knowledge is a plus, but not required.

Annual Base Salary Bonus Opportunities

Total Compensation: $55,000-$80,000 (base salary $55,000-$75,000 plus potential for incentive bonuses)

Responsibilities
  • Plan and administer two annual events with trade shows, social events and education sessions
  • Plan and administer three smaller events and numerous education courses for members
  • Negotiate and contract with hotels and other venues to host events and education programs
  • Arrange speakers for events and courses, with consultation of event committees
  • Coordinate with all vendors who provide services for events and education courses
  • Work with association members and other interested parties to conceptualize new opportunities for education of insurance agents
  • Develop and implement tools for attracting vendors, exhibitors and sponsors to/for association events and membership
  • Supervision of one staff member

Requirements
  • Experience planning and executing professional events (conferences, trade shows and/or education programs); 5 years' experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning, manage timelines and keep stakeholders aligned
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including vendor negotiation and speaker/partner coordination
  • Strong budget ownership experience (building event budgets, tracking spending and delivering within targets)
  • Comfortable supervising others and improving processes to elevate attendee, exhibitor and sponsor experiences


Preferred: Association or continuing education experience; familiarity with CRM/event registration platforms; prior exposure to insurance or financial services.
