Duties
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, assessing patient conditions and delivering immediate medical treatment on scene.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely across city streets, navigating traffic efficiently to reach patients quickly.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Manage airway control, ventilation support, and cardiovascular emergencies with advanced skills such as intubation and medication administration.
- Provide trauma care for Level I and Level II trauma center scenarios, including hemorrhage control and immobilization techniques.
- Execute critical care procedures during patient transport, ensuring continuous monitoring and stabilization en route to hospitals or specialized facilities.
- Utilize medical equipment proficiently, such as DME (Durable Medical Equipment), venipuncture tools, and monitors for vital signs.
- Apply aseptic techniques during invasive procedures like injections or venipuncture to prevent infection.
- Collaborate with incident command teams during large-scale emergencies or disasters to coordinate medical response efforts efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care reports, incident logs, and treatment records in compliance with protocols.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Paramedic with current state licensure.
- Extensive experience in emergency medicine settings,
- Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, cardiovascular emergency response, pediatric emergency care, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and trauma medicine.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and trauma care principles.
- Experience operating emergency vehicles under various conditions while adhering to safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during shifts.
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement and physical examinations.
- Familiarity with incident command systems and emergency response protocols for large-scale incidents or disasters.
- Excellent communication skills for clear patient assessment reporting and coordination with healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and use of medical equipment essential for critical care situations.
