Job Overview:Missoula Compost, LLC. is seeking a long-term employee who is excited about working in the environmental field and will bring innovative thinking to our operations. Missoula Compost is a locally owned, organic waste service with customers in the commercial and residential fields. We collect food waste, yard debris, pallets, and more. This is an entry level position in a quickly growing company. The applicant will have the opportunity to advance to other positions as they are available. CDL holders are preferred or someone who is willing to acquire a Class B CDL. We will not provide assistance aquiring a CDL. Driver must be comfortable driving a pickup and large trailer. Responsibilities and Duties:Assist the collection driver on daily routes. The successful applicant will start by riding on the back of a collection vehicle and empty containers ranging from 10-gallon buckets to 96-gallon trash cans on wheels. All large cans can be dumped with hydraulic equipment. Daily routes may have extreme temperatures and conditions that are common in the Missoula area. These range from -10℉ to 105 ℉ with snow, rain, hail, wind and sun. Be ready for a shift at specified locations at start times as early as 5 a.m. (earlier in summer). Help load piles of debris into the collection vehicle including large branches, piles of grass, pine needles, and other misc. material. Direct driver while backing up to containers to avoid property damage and collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians. Help the route driver stay on schedule by working efficiently and independently.Qualifications:REQUIRED: Valid MT DRIVERS LICENSE WITH CLEAN DRIVING RECORD AND ABILITY TO PASS A RANDOM DRUG TESTHighschool GED.Ability to get a Class B CDLAble to lift between 40-60 lbs in a safe, ergonomic fashion. Use hand tools including a pitchfork, shovel, broom, razor knife.
