Your day as a Business Office Float
As a Business Office Float, you will support multiple business office functions, including insurance verification, pre-authorizations, patient accounts, cashiering, financial counseling, charge entry, and compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Red Flag Rules, as well as other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities include managing accounts receivable by payer and financial class, prioritizing high-dollar and aging balances, following up on unpaid or underpaid claims, reviewing EOBs/ERAs, correcting and resubmitting claims, preparing appeals, and tracking outcomes to reduce recurring denials. You will also foster positive relationships with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and the public while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
