Job Description
Assist in the day-to-day coordination, planning, and management of capital projects, activities, programs, and trades for the University. Coordinate the University’s building automation system to ensure efficient and cost-effective energy use. Coordinate the management of the Preventative Maintenance (PM) Plan, including entering PM work orders and verifying compliance with IHL policies. Oversee capital projects and construction operations for the University. Supervise vendors and contractors performing maintenance and construction services. Coordinate selected contracted services provided through the University’s Facilities Management Department. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, records, and project reports. Promote and enforce safe work practices across all operations. Assist the VP for Facilities with space utilization, office moves, building renovations, and vendor relations when required. Respond to communications (emails, letters, phone calls) and attend meetings as required. Prepare and submit monthly reports and project timelines to the Vice President. Support the implementation of the campus preventative maintenance plan and energy management system.
Required Qualifications
Experience in educational facilities and an undergraduate degree Business Administration and/or Real Estate Emphasis. Knowledge of Data Entry; familiar with the Building and Real Estate Information Collaborative Knowledge Solution “BRICKS” system of DFA /Bureau of Building, the Enhancing Information System ( EIS System), the Institutions of Higher Learning ( IHL ) processes involving utilizing their forms for capital projects and familiar with professional selections. Must have great organizational and time management skills and have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to utilize Microsoft office. Work requires valid MS driver’s license. Candidates should have experience in educational facilities and hold an undergraduate degree, a master’s degree is preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, along with excellent written and oral communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, and the position also demands a valid Mississippi driver’s license.
