Job Description
MVSU Department of Social Work invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position. We seek a dynamic, student-centered, and collaborative faculty member committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service within a CSWE -accredited BSW / MSW program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in social work practice and to the mission of the Department and University; that is, preparing competent, ethical, and culturally responsive social work professionals. Candidates are expected to teach across the social work curriculum, including generalist and advanced practice, HBSE , Social Policy, Theory, Research, Evaluation, Statistics, and in the area of Child Welfare. Candidates will advise students, participate in curriculum development, assessment, accreditation ( CSWE ), program initiatives. Furthermore, candidates will engage in departmental, university, and community partnerships. In addition, the engagement in scholarly research and external funding opportunities. Required Qualifications
MSW degree from a CSWE -accredited program (or International Equivalent). At least two years post MSW practice experience Evidence of effective teaching or training experience Ability to teach across the Social Work Curriculum Doctorate in Social Work or a related field (Ph.D. or DSW ) by the time of appointment. Strong research and assessment background.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching across BSW and MSW programs. Evidence of scholarly potential, including publications or funded research. Experience with curriculum development and accreditation standards ( CSWE ). Demonstrate an enthusiastic interest in graduate education.
