Essential Duties
The successful candidate will teach introductory courses involving some combination of General Biology, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and General Microbiology. Ability to teach at least two of those is required; ability to teach all three will be considered a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have at least a master’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field on or before August 1, 2026. Individuals with post-doctoral experience and/or teaching experience will be given preference.

Applications are invited to apply for a nine-month position in Biology at the Visiting Assistant Professor level beginning August 2026. Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field. Ph.D. preferred.

In addition to campus resources, the successful applicant will have access to the Plymouth Bluff Environmental Center, a 190-acre educational and recreational center situated above the old Tombigbee River channel and located a 15-minute drive from campus. The Noxubee Wildlife Refuge and the Tombigbee, Buttahatchie, and Luxapalia rivers are nearby and available for class or research activities. Interactions and collaborations are also possible with Mississippi State University, a 25-minute drive from campus.
