What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mover position at Mississippi University for Women?
Essential Duties
- Removes items to be moved from initial location and loads on truck.
- Drives truck to new destination, unloads items and places them in final location at new destination.
- Disassembles and reassembles items as required for purpose of moving or relocating.
- Sets up furniture and equipment for use of facilities on campus.
- Understands and follows basic physical and environmental safety policies and procedures applicable to moving items and driving moving truck.
- Rearranges and disposes of items located in storage areas on campus as instructed.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
- Enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work well with others under difficult situations.
- Possess a polite and pleasant demeanor as this position requires the employee to come into frequent contact with the public.
- Ability to perform work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Responds to work orders and requests to move, load, rearrange and deliver furniture, office equipment, supplies and other items on campus to specified destinations, on and off campus.
