MEDICAL ASSISTANT
CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK:
Mississippi Sports Medicine is hiring a Medical Assistant. This position is responsible for assisting the physician and nurse(s) in clinic. The chosen candidate will provide high-quality service to patients seen within the clinic.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Graduate of four-year high school or equivalent (GED), required
Certification / License:
Medical Assistant certification or license preferred, but not required
Experience Requirements:
One-year clinical experience required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Patient interviews
- Record and return patient phone calls
- Perform dressing changes and staple/suture removal
- Records patient data in patient record
- Schedule and pre-certify patient surgeries and procedures
- Effectively communicate with patients
- Other duties as required
